We experienced a very special weekend for live music in Brooklyn last week. From Thursday all the way through Sunday we were blessed with amazing shows. Friday night’s shenanigans showcased the wizard of hip hop, funk & electro-soul Manic Focus. He rolled through town for his sold out Mind Rising tour stop at Knitting Factory, backed up by talented DJ/Drummer duo Horizon Wireless and PK.KID. Manic Focus’s Brooklyn stop was a night of dimensional music, infused with a wide spectrum of genres. The show was soaked in good vibes and high energy throughout.
Manic Focus brought an exciting crowd to the event- head bumpin’ maniacs, free spirited dancers and LED hula hoop goddesses were all in attendance. Visual artist Liz Hogan‘s mesmerizing live painting session added another stroke to the creatively curated show. The Knitting Factory’s atmosphere was on point to say the least.
Shortly after his BK stop, Manic Focus made a very exciting announcement! He’ll be releasing a full length LP, titled Mind Rising on April 21, 2017 and the first single is dropping this Friday the 24th! Fans have been patiently waiting for a new album since his last big release in 2014, so don’t forget to stay tuned for tons of new material from Manic Focus!
