Every summer, a handful of mystery tracks take the festival circuit by storm. It seems like practically every artist in each respective genre is playing them, yet most of the audience has no idea what they are or who created them. Last summer, one of those tracks was “Babatunde” by PEEKABOO & G-Rex. The deep and heavy sub-bass ID was circulated on several major electronic music blogs, and the bass music community was clamoring to find out what this mystery track was. In September, fans finally got their answer when “Babatunde” was officially released on Wakaan Records. As is tradition with a track of that magnitude, an official remix EP was in order. PEEKABOO and G-Rex recruited some of the best of the best in bass music to try their hand at remixing the track, resulting in the massive remix EP that dropped on Friday.
First up, a VIP remix by the original masterminds themselves. PEEKABOO & G-Rex hopped back in the studio to flip their own song, adding even more bass and giving the second drop a major facelift. Also included on the EP are Dirt Monkey, Tynan, Luczid and um.., each adding their own unique flavor to the track.
